Rory McIlroy, a Northern Irish professional golfer is World Number One in Golf circuit. He is one of the youngest and finest prospects in Golf who made his name at a very young age within a span of 5 years in professional level. He started playing Golf at amateur level when he was only 15 years and by 18 years he entered into professional Golf due to his outstanding stint in amateur level.

His determination and passion towards the game made him to perform better every game and climb the rankings. It was only Tiger Woods who was looked up to from a decade and more but here is a player Rory McIlroy who has created huge fan following and is a player to look up to after Tiger Woods, as he is a legend keeping his controversies aside.

Rory used to watch golf online but within a few years he had won his first European Tour (Dubai Desert Classic) in 2009 and first PGA Tour (Qualil Hollow Championship) in 2010 followed by the major titles like U.S. Championship and PGA Championship in 2011 and 2012 respectively. He is the only player after Tiger Woods to attain the PGA title prior to his 21^st birthday.

In 2011, he created many records in U.S. Open and the one which was most noticed was his 72-hole aggregate score of 268 beating the previous record of 1972 set by other great golfers. He then climbed to 4^th position in World Golf Ranking. He created more and more records in 2011 U.S. Open and according to a poll, most of the youth were inspired to take up the game because of Rory. Thus, he was named as 2^nd most powerful person in British Golf by Golf Club Management magazine.

In 2012, McIlroy played many events and won PGA Championship and Wells Fargo Championship to regain his Number One ranking that he was loosing to Luke Donald very often. After winning the PGA Championship, McIlroy became the youngest multiple major champion and the 6^th youngest golfer of all time. He has tasted success and glamour at a very young age but the question is whether he can dethrone Tiger Woods to be the King of Golf.

According to the latest sport news, Rory is odds-on to be included in the European Ryder Cup squad.
