Graeme McDowell, a History
Graeme McDowell is without any doubt one of the greatest golfers in the world. He plays for both the PGA Tour and the European Tour as well, and he hails from Northern Ireland. He shot to the limelight when in 2010; he won the US Open at Pebble Beach, and broke a jinx, where prior to him, no Europeans had won for the last forty years!
In the European Tour, Graeme McDowell has won nine events, while his PGA Tour scorecard has him with just two event wins till now. Also, he has been a member of the team thrice for the European Ryder Cup. But in recent news, Graeme McDowell was seen withdrawing from the BMW PGA Championship which was to be held at Wentworth. He did so because his wife is having their first child, and he wanted to be with his wife during this happy time. Seeing him play at Wentworth this time around would have been a real treat for fans, because this course has not been too kind to
Graeme McDowell the last time he played here. He has been known to miss the cut here a whopping three times, and he has never finished higher than at 13th, which is really a very low point if his entire career is to be compared. And seeing as how he has been a trailblazer at the European Tour, fans were dying to see him in action here at the Wentworth course. But sadly, they will have to wait for him to come back next time around.
His decision is encouraged by everyone, as his wife was too far along to travel with him, so people were alright with his decision to withdraw, as it was really considerate and thoughtful. Fans will therefore have to wait for the next time to come.
